Two young children, aged 2 and 4, have died in a shack fire in the Ramaphosa informal settlement in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni. Their 8-year-old sibling survived but suffered severe burns.
It is understood that the children’s mother left them overnight in their shack and went to a shebeen.
When she discovered the bodies of her children the next day, she disappeared.
The mother’s lifeless body was found 16 metres away from where the fire took place.
The cause of the woman’s death is not yet known. Police are investigating.
