MAIN PURPOSE:

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for tracking, calculating and coordinating a variety of driver and route information. Communicates and interacts with customers and/or clients, co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. The goal is to ensure the smooth operations of a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency, to direct and control allocated areas of transport activity, meeting defined objectives by customers and/or clients and day-to-day operational requirements.

Key Performance Areas:

· Supervise and coordinate Transport Drivers and set schedules.

· Ensure all transport deliveries and pick-ups are completed in a timely manner and that the

· department or projects operates efficiently.

· Establish company routes when needed, concentrating on customer service.

· Review and arrange all transportation paperwork inclusive of job sheets, delivery notes & safety files.

· Supervising employee performance, allocating driver assignments, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

· Responsible for vehicle maintenance including scheduling regular maintenance and making sure vehicles are regularly disinfected and kept sanitary.

· Reporting of repairs, accidents and maintenance.

· Receive all phone calls from drivers any hour in day.

· Record accurately tracker mileages essential for fuel tax monthly and quarterly reporting.

· Review driver’s hours properly and submit time cards to payroll.

· Enhance load capacity and reduce damaged merchandise and loading errors.

· Handle client concerns and direct problems to suitable departments.

· Record driver concerns along with policy violations and direct main issues to appropriate parties.

· Ensure to alert safety infractions along with D.O.T. violations as recorded by Safety Officer to every company driver.

Qualifications:

· Matric Certificate

· Relevant Qualification (Advantageous)

Knowledge and Experience:

· At least 3-5 years’ working experience as a Supervisor

· Minimum 2-years’ experience in windfarm projects

· Abnormal Load Transport Experience

· Valid Driving Licence

Skills and Inherent Requirements

· Proficient in English and Afrikaans

· Highly organized

· Analytical thinker

· Good oral and written communication skills.

· Experience in customer service

· Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes

· Computer literate with a working knowledge of logistics software Competent in MS Word & Excel)

· Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
