Ministers intervene in Transnet strike

eNCA has reliably learnt that Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan and Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi are meeting unions to end the crippling strike at Transnet.

Transnet workers are standing by their demand for a wage increase of between 12 and 13 percent.

Talks continue to drag on as the company is offering 4 to 5 percent.

Meanwhile, Numsa said it would join the strike.
