Traffic cops tells drivers not to panic after hot cross bun controversy

It seems a favourite Easter treat could alter breathalyser tests.

But the Road Traffic Management Corporation says there’s no need to panic and drivers won’t be arrested unfairly.

This after a video went viral of a traffic officer testing positive for alcohol consumption after eating a hot cross bun.

South Africans were left wondering if consuming the buns during the Easter weekend would get them into trouble with law enforcement authorities.

Authorities have said motorists should not be alarmed as the law enforcement officers are required to repeat any tests which have a positive reading after 20 minutes.
