Farm Worker – Tractor Driver (H-2A)

Job Duties:
Employees on farms will perform general maintenance tasks including repair, dismantle, and remodel livestock buildings. Repair and/or install feed equipment, waterlines, gating, insulation, doors, ceilings, and roofs. Repair and/or install ventilation equipment. Framing, tin sheeting, and welding for buildings and equipment repairs and remodeling. Equipment Maintenance requires hand tools and all other necessary tools provided to change oil and do other equipment maintenance that can only be done in good weather conditions throughout the spring, summer and fall. Bait stations will be placed in order to keep mice from entering our buildings and causing damage or spreading diseases. Bait is placed every other week during contract period.
Employees will also be required to take part in lawn care which will require the use of lawn mower, rakes, branch cutter, and weed cutters. Employees may assist with all aspects of corn production. In the fall, harvest and preparation would start in late September and run through December. Grain hauling from remote locations continues after harvest through the winter months as we store it for later usage as feed. Preparing the land for planting starts in March and then planting occurs from April until June. Employees will also participate in the spreading of manure to maintain farm soil quality.
Manure is applied in the fall from late September through December when crops are removed, and the ground is not frozen. In the spring, application occurs in late March through June before the corn is planted. Laborers are responsible for preparing, maintaining, cleaning, and operating all machinery and equipment used for the handling of the manure. Truck transportation is needed for the handling of crop inputs and grain. Equipment operated may include ATV, pickup, semi-truck, tractor, seed tender or combine harvester. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs for 75 yards
Communication Requirements:
− Fluency in English and an advanced understanding and use of English in all forms of communication is essential.
Minimum Job Qualifications / Requirements:
− Matric
− 3 months work experience in a similar role
− Has worked in the United States before (knows about American work ethic)
– Drivers License (Code B)
− Knows how to drive and has a Driver’s License (USA or SA)
− Able to drive or willing to quickly learn how to drive an American Semitruck
– Fluent in English

Working Hours:
40-hour work week
Conventional working hours are between 07:30 and 16:30 from Monday to Friday
