Actress Sindi Dlathu’s touching message to Larona Moagi (Tumi) as she leaves The River

Award-winning actress Sindi Dlathu who currently plays the role of Lindiwe Dikana on soapie The River has offered support for fellow actress Larona Moagi who is exiting the show.

Larona who played the role of the passionate Tumi (Itumeleng) on The River confirmed that she was leaving the show because her character’s storyline has come to its natural conclusion.

The brilliant Sindi Dlathu who plays ruthless mining mogul Lindiwe, offered support to Larona saying that she was destined for greater things. Dlathu also said that she was proud to have worked alongside Larona. Writing on social media platform Twitter, the veteran actress said,

“The sky will never be the limit for you because you are destined for greater heights. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you. Working with you every day was a joy. I am so proud of you LareezyRed heart @Larii_M_”, she tweeted.

The role of Tumi was Larona’s first big role on television, and this resulted in some criticism for her. Her lack of acting experience was once brought up by fellow actress Moshidi Motshegwa, who constantly clashed with Larona Moagi on set.

Moshidi called out Larona Moagi for being a bad actress, in that infamous interview, stating that the showrunners gave her a role that was too big for her, without giving her enough support to execute it.

She likened it to taking Instagram models and giving them film roles, which demand talent as opposed to looks.

We wish Larona all the best in her future projects.
