Lesotho’s Tom Thabane – I’ll resign by the end of July

On Wednesday, the national executive committee of Tom Thabane’s party, the ABC, gave him an ultimatum to resign by Thursday while the opposition threatened to block the budget if he did not.

Lesotho Prime Minister Tom Thabane on Thursday announced that he would resign at the end of July this year.

In an interview on Radio Lesotho, Thabane said: “I’ve decided to resign by the end of July 2020 or before then should the process of my retirement matter be concluded sooner.”
