Former Sars Commissioner Tom Moyane is heading back to the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday to fight for his job.
Moyane’s earlier application to the Constitutional Court was dismissed.
Moyane wanted the court to set aside his dismissal, as well as the decision to establish the Nugent Commission of Inquiry.
Last month, President Cyril Ramaphosa fired Moyane, saying he’d lost confidence in him.
Ramaphosa has also described former President Jacob Zuma’s affidavit in support of Moyane as irrelevant.
Zuma says the inquiry into tax administration and governance at Sars should not have dealt with the contracts of individual employees.
Since Moyane took over the revenue service in 2014, there’s been a revenue shortfall of about R100-billion.
