No more albums from gospel star Thinah Zungu

GOSPEL star Thinah Zungu says he won’t be releasing albums anymore.

The Kwanqaba Umusa hitmaker said he was now focusing on only releasing single tracks.

He said: “From what I have observed, releasing albums is not profitable anymore. Our industry has changed drastically, and Covid-19 made things worse. The sustainability of some musicians is not certain. Things are bad. First it was piracy, that saw music shops shutting their doors and CD businesses collapsing. After thinking thoroughly, I’ve decided to change with the times and release single tracks instead of albums. I believe that is a good move for me.”

He last released an album in 2020, titled Buya Nkosi, that he said didn’t do well probably due to Covid-19.

On Friday, he released a track titled Uyalihloniph’izwi.

He said most of his songs were motivational.

“We are in situations where people hide their scars with smiles and laughter. Some make sure they appear strong on the outside, whereas they are dying inside. My music is healing, motivating, and trying by all means to bring joy and revive hope. I tell people that God can change nothing to something, and impossibility to possibility. My God is a God of truth, and He keeps His promises,” said Thinah.
