Thabo Bester’s mother is living in fear.
Maria Mabaso says she’s been receiving death threats since the news broke of her son’s escape from the Mangaung Correctional Centre last year.
It’s Mabaso’s DNA that confirmed the body found in Bester’s cell wasn’t him.
“I don’t feel safe. I get phone calls every day. I don’t know who to trust,” Mabaso said.
“They tell me they know where I live. When I see cars stopping at the gate I get afraid that it is someone who wants to kill me.”
