Tamia kicks off her three-city South African tour. The famed singer performed all of her greatest hits to a sold-out audience at the Sun Arena in Time Square, Tshwane.

SA’s capital city experienced a magical night on Friday as R&B legend, Tamia kicks off her three-city South African tour.

Iconic hits such as So Into You, Imagination, and Officially Missing You were belted out from the arena as Tamia brought fans to their feet who joined her in a musical love affair.

This marked the Canadian singer’s third time performing in Mzansi and she will take her tour to Cape Town at the A-Track Green Point tonight and then to the Durban Botanical Gardens on Sunday evening.

Famed South African performer, Lady Zamar warmed up the crowed with her electrifying performance of hits such as Collide.

Prior to the concert, Tamia told the Daily Sun that South African audiences are magical to perform for.

“It is always exciting to be here in SA. As an artist, the main thing you want is to go where the love is and I certainly always feel the love, it is very magical here,” she said.

She also said that she will be giving SA all of her biggest hits because she can’t possibly choose which ones to leave out.

“There are songs that I love to perform that may or may not be something that someone else might not miss but I love performing it. And then there are songs that if I don’t perform them they’re coming to get me.

I can’t leave a show without doing Stranger in my House, and I love performing it. So Into You, You Put a Move in my Heart [are songs that] if I left and I didn’t sing those songs they would come after me. Then there are songs that I don’t do a lot like Rain on Me and Never Gonna Let You Go that I’m as excited to do,” she said.

“It is really about the people, it is about connecting and having fun. It is about going down memory lane with people,” she said.
