Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for an Assistant Material Control for a contract position in Umkomaas, KwaZulu Natal.
Job Objective:
Oversee the physical receipt and issuing of goods coming onto the site.
Ensure that material is controlled in terms of the relevant procedures on site.
Key Accountability & Responsibilities:
Ensure that the physical receipt and issuing of goods on the site is managed and controlled and duly reconciled against the relevant purchase and issuing orders
Receive receipts and invoices from suppliers and check them for accuracy
Supervise the off-loading and storage of equipment and supplies
Ensure good housekeeping and security of the materials
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
Matric
Tertiary qualification
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
At least 5 years’ stock control experience on mining construction sites.
Good understanding and working knowledge of stock-keeping and materials control.
Good understanding of English language, both verbal and written.
Computer literacy in MS Word & Excel.
Personal attributes:
Ability to communicate clearly and to understand work instructions.
Ability to prioritise simple, but diverse instructions/requests.
Honesty and integrity in dealing with the company’s assets
