Stage set for Women’s Olympic Football Tournament qualifiers draw

The Women’s Olympic Football tournament qualifiers’ draw is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 30 May, in Cairo, Egypt. The draw which is set to get underway at 1pm will begin the steps towards the upcoming Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris.

Africa’s women’s football qualifiers are set to begin in July this year, and they will run up until April 2024. The qualifiers will be made up of four rounds comprising of home and away ties.

This time around two teams from Africa will qualify for the showpiece in Paris. Two years ago at the Tokyo Olympics, only Zambia’s Copper Queens successfully qualified for the event, but they failed to make it past the group stages.
