The Rugby World Cup has seemingly taken a nasty turn. South African Rugby Union director of rugby, Rassie Erasmus, has revealed that scrumhalf Cobus Reinach received death threats. This after Reinach’s starring role in the Springboks’ quarter-final win over hosts France on Sunday.
Erasmus announced on social media that Reinach received a hateful message on Instagram, and it was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. One of the messages seemingly makes a threat to kill Reinach’s young son.
The Bok scrum-half plies his trade in France, playing for French Top 14 club Montpellier. The Springboks are gearing up for 2019 runners-up England in the semi-final on Saturday night.
This is obviously not true. Unfortunately these threats was made to Cobus Reinach!! Its not nice and upsets a mom and dad to see things like that said about their boy! But we are not gonna whine, we will just move on!!! Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie https://t.co/sghjhA2z9l pic.twitter.com/61ZFBQJxT8
