The search continues for little Khayalethu Magadla who fell into a manhole last weekend.
Rescue teams have been using technology to get into sewers under Soweto.
The family spokesperson has described the six-year-old as bubbly and acknowledged that it is a recovery mission at this point instead of a search.
Meanwhile, EMS has continuously searched the tunnels one by one, sending in divers and an unmanned boat.
They are expected to brief the family on Saturday’s operation and continue the search and recovery on Sunday.
