Astel Systems, an expanding Umhlanga based software company that was selected by Microsoft as one of the Top 3 emerging ICT companies and has recently won Microsoft Managing Partner of the year award in the country, is looking for recently qualified individuals possessing an IT related qualification to assist with software support at our client’s office-based, in Richards Bay. The company supplies its solutions to both national and international clients currently develops products on the Microsoft stack
Job purpose:
To provide front-line, technical support to end-users on various technical issues and problems relating to Astel products. Responsible for responding to, documenting and resolving service tickets in a timely manner according to SLA while adhering to Astel procedures. This position may require independent work, sharing information and assisting others with tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze product-related issues and/or identify solutions to software and hardware issues.
Troubleshoot product-related requests and identify root causes of issues
Obtain and log customer feedback for process improvement
Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g, software developers)
Document software support activities thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner
Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
Review work log, customer feedback periodically with supervisor and other analysts and technicians, to identify and act on opportunities for improvement
Provide exceptional customer engagement in person, via phone and email as required
Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting.
Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
Analyze records and logs to spot underlying trends and potential issues.
Minimum requirements:
An IT related qualification from a reputable institution.
Permanently based in the Richards Bay
Experience in a support role is not a must but will be advantageous.

Ability to work under pressure
Have some SQL knowledge
