Watch: Slik Talk explains HOW he lost weight in just one year

Controversial South African YouTuber Slik Talk has revealed how he lost a substantial amount of weight in just one year.

The outspoken vlogger stunned South Africans when he debuted a slim and toned new look last week.

Apart from his scathing commentary on celebrities, Slik Talk made headlines in 2021 when he lost a boxing match to rapper Cassper Nyovest.

The defeat was a game-changer for the law student, who was unhappy about his appearance.

He said in his latest video: “As you can see, I am out of shape, I’m sweaty, and I’m tired. I went to a boxing match, I lost, and I said f**k that, I’m going to get in shape.

“I didnt like the way I looked; I was disappointed. Everybody was laughing at me. I saw what people were saying I used that energy and applied it to myself, and here are the results”.

He added: “You need people to tell you the truth so you can do better.”

Slik Talk revealed that he did not physically prepare for his boxing match with Cassper Nyovest.

He continued: “I didnt even do a 100 metre sprint. I just went there for the bag. The only thing I was concerned about was what it was going to do for my brand, and I’m going to get money.

Slik decided to enroll in the gym without the use of a personal trainer.

“That was the mindset I went in with. I’m not playing around. I get in there and put in the work six days a week, and I bust my a**,” he said.

Slik Talk added that he reduced his liquid intake, which he believes helped him define his face during weight loss.

During his vlog, Slik Talk offered tips for others who want to lose calories and sustain their weight loss.

They include:

Don’t starve yourself. “Just cut out the bullsh*t and unhealthy stuff. Be conscious of what you put in your body.

Walking is the most important workout. “You need to be doing at least 10 000 steps a day. You can do this via an app that counts your steps.”

Focus on cardio. “I go on the treadmill, and then I do incline walking and then ride a bicycle. I then go and lift weights intensely.y

Be consistent. “I sweat it out every day. Monday is chest, Tuesday is shoulders, Wednesday is back, Thursday is arms, and Friday is legs. On Saturday, I might do my chest and arms again. Don’t skip days if you want the transformation.

Don’t rush the process. “Take it step by step, and remember you’re doing it for yourself and not anybody else. People will ridicule you, but [those same people] will ask you how you did it”.
