3-year-old toddler shot in the head
A three-year-old girl has been shot dead in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town.
The baby girl was in a car on the corner of Highlands Drive and Eisleben Road on Wednesday when gunmen opened fire.
According to cops spokesman Captain FC van Wyk, the toddler died after being shot in the head.
FC van Wyk said a 25-year-old woman, that is alleged to be the toddler’s mum, and a man she was travelling with were injured in the shooting.
The driver of the car allegedly drove to the hospital after the shooting.
“The female sustained a bullet wound in her right arm, and the man sustained bullet wounds in his face and shoulder,” he said.
Van Wyk said a case of murder and two cases of attempted murder are under investigation.
