Man accused of shooting Senzo Meyiwa denies knowing Kelly Khumalo

The man accused of pulling the trigger on the night Senzo Meyiwa was shot has denied meeting or knowing singer Kelly Khumalo.

The State in the matter believes the singer is the alleged mastermind behind the football star’s murder.

Meyiwa and Khumalo were in a relationship at the time of the shooting, which happened at the singer’s home in Vosloorus in 2014.

Mthobisi Mncube has denied any involvement in the murder, saying he had never been to the house.

For the first time since the trial started, the lawyer for Mncube has gone into some detail while giving his version while cross-examining one of the investigators, Sergeant Batho Mogola.

Mncube denied any involvement in the murder of Senzo Meyiwa, saying he was in the house on the day of the crime.

This is contrary to the State’s case, which is that Mncube was not only one of the two intruders, but he was also the gunman.

His lawyer, Advocate Charles Mnisi, also pointed out how the description by those who were in the house of his physical appearance looked nothing like him.

A new State witness will take the stand on Thursday morning.
