Daughter selling pun@ni behind her family’s back dies on spot after being hit by bakkie

The family didn’t know their daughter was a magosha. But her aunt (36) said she’d seen her with a group of magoshas the day before she died.

The magosha died after she was hit by a bakkie in Caleb Motshabi in Mangaung on Friday afternoon, 4 June.

She was with eight other magoshas at the time of the accident.

The 48-year-old driver was on his way to Matlharantlheng, Mangaung, when he ploughed into the women.

The aunt told the publication: “She’s been selling beer and I heard rumours she was also selling pun@ni.

“But I didn’t believe it until I saw her with other pr0stitutes the day before her death.

“I told her she shouldn’t be ashamed because she was working for her family.”

The aunt said her niece had a problem of drinking the beer she was selling, leaving her broke, which could be why she became a magosha.

Another magosha told the publication the woman was also a mashonisa.

“Our friend had nothing but money on her mind. She was borrowing us money and we relied on her when pun@ni business was bad. Her interest was 30% and we loved her.”

She died on the spot and the other eight injured magoshas were rushed to Pelonomi Academic Hospital.

Colonel Thandi Mbambo said the 48-year-old bakkie driver claimed to have fallen asleep behind the wheel.

He’s facing a charge of culpable homicide and is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court soon.
