The successful candidate will be responsible for the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors. The incumbent will also be responsible for detecting any suspicious behaviour and preventing vandalism, theft or other criminal behaviour. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation.

Herewith an overview of the position:

Be vigilant in protecting of property and people against any attempt by any person to unlawfully enter the premises

Ensure that no unwanted or unauthorized persons enter the premises or part of the premises;

Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people onto the property

Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points

Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control, and accident investigations

Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers

Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

Provide excellent customer service

Control traffic by directing drivers

Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons

Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

Requirements

Well trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators.

Security Officer proven experience – 5+ Years’ Experience

Knowledge of security operations and procedures

Good fitness level to periodically patrol buildings and grounds.

Excellent surveillance and observation skills

Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety

Interpersonal Skills

Knowledge of Basic Security and Fire Inspection Procedures

Dependability

Objectivity

Honesty and integrity

Teamwork

Ability to follow specified procedures in the completion of their duties

Communication skills

Interpersonal / Social skills.

The ability to present themselves and the Company in a professional manner
