Two security guards have been arrested for stealing more than 5,000 litres of diesel from East London’s Port Rex Power Station. The stolen diesel is valued at almost R146,000. The guards were arrested on Monday while on duty.
During investigations, it was found that suspects allowed a vehicle to collect the diesel during night shifts. In addition, they were paid in return. The pair are expected to appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday Eskom says investigations to identify other suspects are continuing.
