The Gauteng Department of Education says it is disappointed with the decision by the Education Labour Relations Council to reinstate the principal of Parktown Boys High School.
Malcolm Williams was dismissed in December 2020 for his role in the events which led to the death of a Grade 8 learner, Enoch Mpianzi.
Mpianzi drowned while on a school outing.
Williams was charged with three counts of misconduct.
The Education Labour Relations Council also says Williams has to be remunerated for the months he wasn’t working.
The Gauteng Education Department says it’s seeking legal advice on the matter.
