Purpose of the position:

Manages sales of the company’s products and services (OA, Telecomms etc). Ensures consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment and management of sales personnel. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve. This role is required to identify key business stakeholders. It is primarily responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities & duties:

Planning, Control and Reporting:

Manage and Assigned geographic sales base and products and services to maximize sales
revenues and meet company objectives

Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly targets and budgets
Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company’s products
Formulates all sales policies, practices and procedures
Formulating and Implementing business strategy RFP’s, RFQ’s and RFP’s for Public Sector
Designing and implementing the overall sales & marketing plan for the Public Sector
Provide content and updates for various management reporting and environmental scanning
processes and ensuring these objectives are met

Budget formulation and implementation
Implementing operational control and best practices
Working with sales coordinator/s in managing the measurement of customers/stakeholder
satisfaction surveys and develop plans together with management where improvements are required

Ensures regular reporting on sales performance to sales team and management
Manage Staff:

Establishes and manages effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise and train sales employees
Manages and develops sales and sales support staff
Monitoring and reviewing staff’s performance and progress
Evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements

Stakeholder Relationship:

Ensuring stakeholders are recognised as partners in the development and delivery of strategic goals
Developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies including informing, consulting and involving stakeholders
Implement stakeholder engagement guidelines (opportunity monitoring, tender/bid response engagement)
Advising management of issues and/or risks to stakeholder relationships as soon as they arise so risks can be managed
Collaborates with internal stakeholders in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the company
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to establish and control budgets for sales
Effectively ensuring management and staff understand the value of – and are committed to– the genuine participation of stakeholders in the development of products and services designed to meet stakeholder needs (customer-focus)
Assist business to effectively consult and engage stakeholders on relevant projects. Projects such as BEE verification, marketing/PR etc
Manage stakeholder satisfaction research projects, including developing and implementing strategies for continually improving stakeholder satisfaction
Manage stakeholder forums, strategic meetings and special events
Attend relevant public meetings, events and trade shows with key outcomes of enhancing
the Company’s image and promote its founding principles

Coordinate stakeholder contact through the implementation of a stakeholder contact
management system

Ensuring optimal relationships with Key Public-Sector CIO
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including existing and prospective
customers

Identify stakeholder issues and act appropriately to address issues
Sales:

Hold regular meeting with sales employees
Performs sales activities on existing and new accounts and negotiates sales price and
discounts in consultation with internal stakeholders.

Make contact and arrange meetings with key prospective customers as directed by the MD
Achieving profitability targets.
Achieving growth targets.
Maintaining sound customer relations.
Liaising with customers and suppliers.
Maintaining standards of Level 1 BBBEE level and Supporting Procurement.
Contribute to the overall development and maintenance of reputation
Achieve KPI targets

Qualifications:

Essential qualifications:

Bcom or equivalent

Work experience & skills:

10 years in ICT related sales in the public sector, preferable OA
Intense knowledge of the government procurement including its broad-based procurement
framework

Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
