SA needs to recover money lost to corruption: Madonsela

Former public protector, Thuli Madonsela says South Africa needs to recover money lost to corruption.

Different commissions of inquiry have uncovered dodgy deals involving government officials and political leaders.

Madonsela, speaking on eNCA’s ‘The Fix’ says South Africa needs a False Claims Act, to encourage witnesses of corruption to speak up, even if they cannot prove their claims.

In October 2016, Madonsela released her final reports ending her seven-year term of office – which she’s called an epic journey.

While making headlines with her Prasa and Nkandla reports, her passion to serve characterised her tenure.

A thorn in the side of some, she was overwhelmingly praised as a leader of the highest integrity.
