Call to prioritise road safety among youth

Young people should be learning to drive safely, not learning to bribe and buy licences.

That’s the view of the Automobile Association.

This Youth Month, it’s urging the youth to be safe on the roads.

In 2022, almost half of all road fatalities were those aged between 20 and 39 years.

“When it comes to younger drivers, they accumulate habits along the way,” said the AA’s Layton Beard.

“We need a lot more traffic officers to ensure the law is being applied.”
