The CSIR has a temporary vacancy for a Registry Clerk in the Management Services portfolio. The incumbent will be responsible for registry services to the CSIR divisions, as well as any other logistic support services. This position is based in Pretoria.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle incoming and outgoing mails. Record mail in appropriate files for charging other divisions and update records;
Maintain records of materials filed or removed from registry;
Administer and handleg registered mail safely;
Administer franking postage machine to ensure cost recovery;
Package and distribute parcels to various destinations;
Assist with document production e.g. photocopying, printing, binding etc.
Attend to registry stationery and refreshments requests;
Troubleshoot basic technical problems, e.g. printer jams, system crashes;
Log calls to report problems with the fax or copiers;
Replenish toners and papers to ensure smooth running of operations;
Ensure safe and environmentally friendly disposal of empty cartridge;
Provide general administrative support;
Compile monthly registry charges and journals for costs recovery;
Control registry stock (e.g. papers, toners, envelopes, binders);
Ensure safe house-keeping within the registry office;
Procure registry consumables;
Capture trip sheets for vehicles;

Qualifications, skills and experience:

A grade twelve certificate with at least one-year administrative experience;
Ability to work well under pressure;
Respect the confidentiality of sensitive customer information;
Team-player;
Customer-service orientation;
Ability to pay attention to detail.
