Cape Town assures refuse collection will continue over holidays! The City of Cape Town has confirmed that refuse collection services will proceed as normal over the upcoming public holidays.

Today marks Good Friday, followed by Easter Monday. Freedom Day will be observed on 28 April, and Workers’ Day on 1 May. Despite the holiday stretch, the city says its waste collection schedule will not be interrupted.

While services will continue, the city has cautioned residents about the possibility of minor delays. These could be caused by holiday traffic, unplanned staff absenteeism, or operational challenges.

What to Do If Delays Occur

In the event of delays, residents are advised to leave their bins out daily until the waste has been collected. The city has assured that any backlogs will be cleared by the next scheduled collection day at the latest.
