Western Cape Disaster Management is still on high alert as heavy rains continue to batter the province.
The Weather Service is warning of yet another cold front that is fast approaching.
It will bring more heavy rains and strong winds to coastal areas on Tuesday.
But, disaster management doesn’t expect the storm to be as bad as previous ones.
“So we’ve been able to do quite a lot which has protected the province from the third and fourth cold fronts which hit us, and then we have been informed by the weather service that there will still be some bad weather on the way,” said Colin Deiner.
“We are not expecting them to have the impact that they had over the last week or so, but however, we’re still on high alert, there are still areas that are saturated.
“There are areas that have been compromised winds so that is where we’re really focusing now.”

South African TV and radio presenter Unathi Nkayi committed a career hara-kiri when she refused to apologize to her former colleague Sizwe Dhlomo for “falsely accusing” him of hurling profanities at her in the studio of the Gauteng-based radio station last year.

This despite being instructed to extend an olive branch to Dhlomo by the station’s human resource head, Bhekiwe Khumalo, after the station’s internal investigations exonerated Dhlomo of any wrongdoing. Learn More
