A Lot About You
We are looking for great talent – Junior Python Developer- to join our IT team for a 12-month internship position. Appointment will be subject to a 12-month contractual probation period after which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be permanently employed.
Your Day
Design, develop, code and test new/existing software apps
Provide accurate reporting.
Recommend modifications to processes and procedures, and contribute to best practices, architecture, and implementations
Promote and solicit ideas within project teams
You are a great problem solver, with the capability to work independently and as part of a strong team and be open to guidance and constructive feedback from senior team members.
Candidate Requirements: Minimum Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or in an IT-related discipline
1-2 years of software development experience with a strong Python focus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent comprehension in areas of logic and mathematics.
Work with servers, applications, and databases
Are familiar with APIs
Able to follow coding standards.
Able to work under pressure.
Familiar with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in the following would be beneficial:
Front-end language: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Back-end experience (Grid, Hadoop, etc.)
Familiarity with C#, PHP, PostgreSQL
Experience building or maintaining databases (Oracle, MySQL, Hive, etc.)
Cross-browser, cross-platform coding
