Power utility Eskom is urging the public to play its part in safeguarding the integrity of the power network
Eskom said reporting illegal activity around its infrastructure would help prevent networking overload.
The call comes as South Africans continue to experience consistent power supply with no load shedding.
Eskom has not implemented rolling power cuts in four months despite increased demand during winter.
It said the generation recovery plan continued to deliver efficiencies.
Spokesperson Daphne Mokoena, however, stated that Eskom continues to face network overloading issues in some areas.
“These problems stem from illegal connections, vandalism, meter tampering, unauthorized network operations, theft of network equipment, and purchasing electricity from unlicensed vendors,” said Mokoena.
