A well-established premium quality pet food manufacturer requires the above to implement, manage and report on systems and processes that ensure optimal factory efficiency and smooth production flow within the assigned area of responsibility, reporting into the Operations Director.
Minimum requirements for the role:

Previous Production or Factory Supervisory or Management experience having managed a team of factory staff and understands the importance of high-quality control standards and core measurements such as various manufacturing output efficiencies within the industry is essential.

Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or related is preferred but not essential.

Previous experience having worked as a Factory or Production Manager or related role within a pet food or related environment is essential.

Computer literacy is essential with intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Previous hands on and Management or Supervisory experience having worked within the food production industry working with food standards is essential.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Previous experience having had exposure to HACCP/ FSSC 22000 is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Managing the entire factory process from incoming to dispatch.

Overseeing and coordinating production planning (make-to-order) following input from the Sales Team.

Managing and implementing production plans by Operations Team.

Ensuring sound leadership of shop floor in order to meet production targets.

Managing and implementing operational improvements to drive cost efficiency in area of responsibility.

Overseeing the maintenance of the factory ERP system to facilitate material planning by the Procurement Lead.

Ensuring that best practice manufacturing practices are adopted and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.

Overseeing and driving strategic projects to improve operational efficiencies within the factory.

Maintaining quality and safety standard on site in line with legislation and SQF, Woolworths and ZA certification.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
