Mzansi rapper Priddy Ugly opened up about his quick boxing fight with South African rapper Refiloe Maele Phoolo, best known as Cassper Nyovest during an episode of Choppin It With Bhuda T on Thursday, 21 June.
Priddy Ugly went back in time and shed some light on how he lost the boxing match against Capper Nyovest and in such a short time. According to TshisaLIVE, Cassper Nyovest was said to have won the match within the first two minutes of the first round.
During the podcast, Priddy Ugly could be heard excusing his quick loss and blamed several factors such as not having had enough time to prepare for the fight and not having acquired the right techniques due to the short period of time that he was giving to prepare for it.
“He reaches out to me and is like yo, I’m gonna say some stuff on Twitter [and] I need you to respond. Let’s just see what people are saying. I was like no, I got you. Eventually, we announced the fight and then I had to do a lot of stuff behind the scenes that people don’t know. This is four weeks before the fight; fight prep[aration]. The weakest thing that I had coming into the fight was getting told your head movement is weak, man,” Priddy Ugly said.
“He didn’t even have to do much. He just hit me directly in the face. You know what I’m saying? And, it kept happening,” the rapper added.

The rappers were said to have gone head-to-head at the Sun Bet Arena in Pretoria on Saturday, 1 October 2022, IOL reported. After the fight, Cassper Nyovest was quoted as saying,
“This was the easiest fight to make. Everyone else made excuses but Priddy was up for it and easy to work with.”
Meanwhile, Priddy Ugly had another thing coming after losing the fight and was viciously dragged on social media. In response, he took to his feed and wrote a lengthy post dedicated to his haters and trolls and said,
“It’s okay to laugh when you see me. Let’s laugh together. Stop being so serious. Life is beautiful.”
