PLASTERER urgently wanted: Salary R 7500 PER MONTH
This position will be responsible for providing a functional and practical service to the Property by planning, configuring, installing, repairing and maintaining the property’s interior and exterior structures which involves the coating of these structures using different types of plaster / appropriate material.
Duties
Determining job requirements, planning and configuring materials according to the blueprints, drawings, sketches or oral instructions given
To roughen undercoats, providing a bond for coats of plaster
To measure, mark and cut plasterboards by determining the plasterboard layout required
May install guide wires on the exterior surface of buildings to determine the thickness of plaster required
Mixing and applying coats of plasters, cement and render to structures using trowels, levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness
To produce a finished surfaced by applying coats of plaster to interior walls, ceilings and partitions of buildings according to requirements
Creating decorative textures in finishing coats if and when required
Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, wall and ceiling surfaces
Covering nail holes with plaster, sealing compounds and smoothing out plastered surfaces
Lifting, positioning and securing panels to walls, ceilings and battens
Applying coats of scratch, brown or plaster to wood, metal or board lath
Preparing corner beads and securely positioning them
To apply insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials
Reporting any breakages, faults or damages to the Maintenance Supervisor
Performing any reasonable special projects as requested by management required by your role
May perform maintenance tasks only designated by Maintenance management
Requirements
Related qualification is advantageous
Minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant plastering experience
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent hand-eye co-ordination skills
