It’s unclear where Denel will get the R500-million to pay workers their outstanding salaries.
National Union of Mineworkers coordinator, Mawonga Madolo, says the union has been told the board is resolving the matter.
He says the situation is so critical that some workers have resorted to taking their lives.
The union has now issued a letter of demand to the parastatal.
