Ntsiki Mazwai strikes again and this time her tweets are aimed at black women. It is a new year and the start of a new decade, which many celebrities have dedicated to everything positive in their lives. However, Ntsiki stays trending for all the negative reasons.
Ntsiki made some offensive remarks about women and their weaves saying that black women should focus on their own kinky African hair instead of “mimicking” white women. She even called this widespread pandemic of weaves as a sickness instead of a preference.
Sparking a debate that had men siding with her, she had people agreeing with her sentiments and proceeded to bash black women for ‘idolizing’ white women hair. The musician reckons that imitating white women’s hair, lowers black women’s standards and image. Ruffling a few feathers, social media came out guns-blazing at the poetess but she stood her ground and is unshaken by the negativity. She told people who do not like what she tweets to block her instead.
You know that awkward feeling and moment when you talk to someone with some kind of ‘specialness?’ When you don’t know where to look and you struggle to make eye contact….. That’s how weaves make me feel. I wanna ask ‘what happened?’ 😥
