The NSRI has warned that cold fronts moving across South Africa are causing rough seas. NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon says this coincides with the new moon spring tide, which may cause perilous sea conditions.
He says bathers, paddlers, boaters and coastal hikers should be extra cautious. Lambinon has called on people to have safety foremost in mind, as people return home following the school holidays.
“Snow and rain, forecast by South African Weather Service, in places, may cause inland water ways, rivers, lakes and dams, to pose dangers to road users, hikers, bathers and paddlers. Keep a watch and adhere to South African Weather Service alerts and weather warnings.
NSRI, Police and the emergency services, are appealing to the public to be safety conscious on this last day of the school vacation.https://t.co/Cv6hJF2mzK
