In 2017 Beiersdorf filed a lawsuit against Koni Multinational Brands over the launch of a men’s shower gel Founded by actress Connie Ferguson, which the Nivea owner alleged was too similar to its own branding.
In March Connie Ferguson lost a lawsuit against Nivea when the court ruled in favour of the cosmetics giant. The judge concluded that the similarity between the Nivea and Koni product packaging had the potential to mislead consumers.
Nivea introduced a new product in to their cosmetics range and used the line”The Queen has arrived” on the blue container as a reveal that you should click to view the new product.
As many South Africans may know, “The Queen” is Mzansi Magic’s show which happens to be produced by The Fergusons.
