Mzansi Celebs

Mzansi Celebs who could replace Herman Mashaba as mayor of Jozi

Well, it’s official. Herman Mashaba has resigned as the mayor of Johannesburg and is officially serving his notice. The businessman-turned-politician will remain in office until the 17th of November, giving the DA enough time to nominate his successor.

AKA

As a courtesy to the party, we have already put together a shortlist of eight celebrity candidates who would be well placed to lead the city of Jo’burg to a brighter tomorrow. The search to find Jo’burg’s new leader won’t be easy – but these celebs have everything it takes to clean up the city and run it efficiently.

AKA
If there’s anybody who knows what it takes to run a city, it’s AKA, who literally has a song called Run Jozi.

AKA
His experience in the rap game will serve him well as he’d had to deal with beef, politics, disgruntled masses and a never-ending demand for new music – just about everything he would need to deal with as mayor!

Sho Madjozi
If it’s leadership you’re after then look no further than Sho Madjozi.

Sho Madjozi

The singer has displayed acute awareness on social media and she has both the vision and the work ethic to deliver the future that Jo’burgers have dreamt of for years.

DJ Sbu
DJ Sbu is perfectly placed to solve the unemployment crisis in the city of Jozi.

DJ Sbu

He’s been creating jobs for the majority of his career and he knows the streets of the city backwards. Who better to replace Mashaba’s business-minded approach than the king of the hustle?

Gigi Lamayne
Gigi Lamayne might be a celebrity but she’s in touch with the people on the ground.

Gigi Lamayne

She knows the suburbs and the city centre; she’s as loved eKasi as she is in Sandton. This personal approach is what has been missing from Mzansi politics.

Tbo Touch
Similar to DJ Sbu, Tbo Touch has the business acumen to be able to make a strong impact as the mayor of Jo’burg.

Tbo Touch

His political campaign could simply be ‘Touch Jozi’ and with his knack for giving back, we are certain he would take care of the working class

Sizwe Dhlomo
After schooling us on grammar and nurturing his horses, Sizwe Dhlomo could be exactly the kind of mayor that Johannesburg needs.

Sizwe Dhlomo

His wide knowledge and international outlook could help the city during these turbulent times.

Lorna Maseko
Not only is she generously charitable but Lorna Maseko also has a sharp business mind and a wealth of knowledge in arts and culture.
