Mvezo Welcome Centre destroyed by lightning

The Mvezo Welcome Centre has been destroyed by lightning.
The centre caught fire as torrential storms continue to batter parts of the Eastern Cape.
Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter Ndileka Mandela shared video footage of the incident on her Facebook page.
The Welcome Centre was built as an initial point of contact for tourists visiting the area, which is the late statesman’s place of birth.
The centre served to offer a glimpse into his childhood.
No injuries have been reported.
