Murunwa Makwarela has resigned as Tshwane executive mayor.
Makwarela has been accused of supplying falsified documents on his 2016 sequestration.
The Gauteng High Court in Tshwane declared Makwarela’s rehabilitation certificate as fake and say it was never issued by the court.
Makwarela was disqualified from taking up his position as Mayor after the IEC flagged him as an unrehabilitated insolvent.

A warrant of arrest has been issued for Royal AM FC chairman Andile Mpisane. This comes after he allegedly violated an interim protection order.
