The man who kissed maskandi star Mthandeni “Igcokama Elisha” Manqele, has come clean about the incident.
In a viral video, Sibusiso Mkhwanazi (31) can be seen grabbing the maskandi star from behind and kissing him before Mthandeni elbows him away.
This happened at a private event in Newtown, Joburg on Saturday 13 November.
Sibusiso told Daily Sun: “I never meant to kiss Mthandeni. The plan was to strip him naked in front of his followers to embarrass him. When I jumped on stage, my intention was to rip off his traditional skirt.
“Unfortunately, I was tipsy and failed to properly execute the plan. I was removed from stage before I could tear his clothes off. I agreed to do it mainly because I hate him. I also wanted to prove my love and loyalty to his enemy, Khuzani Mpungose. At this stage, I will not reveal who sent me but I will say it was carefully planned.”
However, Sibusiso said he wanted to apologise for his actions.
“Because of this incident, I’ve been attacked on Facebook. I’ve also watched the video and I feel embarrassed. Initially, I didn’t see anything wrong with my actions but now I can see I was wrong. Now I can see I was used to fight battles that do not concern me.
“Therefore, I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to Mthandeni and his followers.
“My actions were stupid and uncalled for. I’ll never do it again,” he said.
Mthandeni said he was happy Sibusiso recognised that he made a mistake and wouldn’t repeat it.
“I’m not going to entertain the Khuzani part because he’s irrelevant to me,” he said.
Khuzani said he didn’t know Sibusiso or the person who sent him.
