The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported 9,757 new COVID-19 infections.
A further seven people have died from COVID-19 related deaths
Meanwhile, the Department of Health backtracked on the face mask mandate in schools on Wednesday.
It now says children in schools must continue complying with wearing face masks in classrooms and indoor gatherings.
The department has extended the public consultation period for health regulation amendments until 5 July.
