Over 8 000 new COVID-19 cases and 182 more deaths recorded in SA

Over 8,000 new COVID-19 infections were recorded in South Africa in the last 24 hours.
#COVID19 UPDATE: A total of 48 609 tests were conducted in the last 24 hrs, with 8 021 new cases, which represents a 16.5% positivity rate. Most of the new cases were recorded in Gauteng.
A total of 182 more deaths take the COVID-19 death toll nearly 57,592.
South Africa technically entered the third wave of COVID-19 infections on Thursday.
Meanwhile, worldwide COVID-19 cases are edging closer to 175m.
