One South Africa Movement leader Mmusi Maimane says the Independent Electoral Commission should have prepared to be COVID-ready for the elections beforehand.
The Constitutional Court dismissed the Commission’s application to postpone the poll.
As a result, the local government elections will go ahead as planned by no later than 1 November.
The IEC wanted the election postponed after a report suggested it would not be free and fair because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
