Minnie Dlamini responds to claims she cheated on Quinton Jones with late Nkateko Mabaso

Popular South African media personality Minnie Dlamini is breathing fire after controversial blogger Musa Khawula accused her of being a romantic relationship with late former MultiChoice executive Nkateko Mabaso.

Mabaso – who was instrumental in the success of productions like Isibaya and major events such as the DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards passed away on Wednesday, 19 June, due to an undisclosed illness.

In a post on Sunday, Musa claimed that Minnie cheated on her estranged husband, Quinton Jones, with Mabaso.

“Minnie Dlamini’s lover Nkateko Mabaso has passed away. Minnie Dlamini cheated on Quinton Jones with Nkateko Mabaso. Nkateko Mabaso was a CEO of M-Net before he was appointed as Netflix director of licensing and co-productions for Africa. Nkateko Mabaso had used his position/s to set Minnie Dlamini up with jobs at DSTV,” read Musa’s post on X (formerly Twitter).

Hitting back in an X post, Minnie said: “I thought you said I cheated with Edwin Sodi? Now it’s Nkateko Mabaso? Which one is it? Who is next? Let it go bro damn. This is incredibly disrespectful to my friend’s family and his memory. People are mourning you have no shame!”

The Honeymoon actress has previously been accused of cheating with corruption-accused businessman Edwin Sodi.

The allegations emerged in February 2022 when she and Jones announced that they were getting a divorce.

At the time, Minnie and her ex addressed the claims in a joint statement labelling the rumours “baseless” and “damaging”. They also threatened to take legal action, as a result.

“We have been made aware of various allegations regarding our divorce circulating on social media since yesterday. Without saying much more, all the allegations made are false, damaging, and malicious.

“Fabrications of such a damaging manner are both unnecessary and hurtful in a matter that is already sensitive to us.

“Our shared priority is to remain friends and co-parent our son. We kindly ask that you allow us to go through our private processes without dragging ourselves, our families, and our loved ones into baseless rumours and social media sensationalism. These baseless rumours affect not only us, but our child.

“Considering the nature of the allegations made, legal action will be taken against the relevant parties,” read the statement.
