Minister Ramokgopa says more work needed to deal with power crisis despite 3 weeks of no power cuts

Despite 21 days of no load shedding, Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa said more work still needed to be done to deal with the power crisis.

Ramokgopa briefed the media on Monday morning on the implementation of the energy action plan, praising it for contributing to uninterrupted power supply.

He attributed the reprieve to Eskom employees who have executed the plan.

“That is why we can’t speak with great confidence and say load shedding is behind us, I am not about to make that claim, that would be a false claim that can’t be substantiated, and I think the relationship we have built with the South African public is that we are going to be brutally honest.”
