Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan appoints Transnet’s new group CEO, CFO

The Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan has announced the appointment of Michelle Phillips as Transnet’s new Group Chief Executive Officer.

Phillips has been acting GCEO following the resignation of Portia Derby in September last year. She has over 20 years of experience in Transnet in various roles.

She had been serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Transnet Pipelines since August 2020 before her appointment as acting Group-CEO. Gordhan also announced the appointed Nosipho Maphumulo as Transnet Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
