POSITION DESCRIPTION
MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION
Installing pipework, valves, pumps, and motors
Carrying out planned maintenance checks
Replacing worn parts and re-setting instrument controls
Cleaning machinery
Responding to emergency breakdowns, for example on a manufacturing production line
In-depth understanding of the maintenance function in a manufacturing environment
In-depth understanding and knowledge of fault finding principle
Comprehensive understanding of the management of stock of spare parts
Ability to successfully manage and provide direction to the maintenance team to ensure that the organizational goals are met and exceeded
Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machines
Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Performing other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
FORMAL EDUCATION
Matric/ Grade 12
3 Years Post Trade Test Experience in a Maintenance role for a manufacturing company
Qualified Millwright/Fitter
3 Years of welding experience
Steel fabrication and welding is essential for this role
