Metrobus drivers to down tools

Salary disparities, corruption, and unfair dismissals.

These are the issues that Metrobus workers are fighting against.

Members of the Democratic Municipal and Allied Workers Union of South Africa (DEMAWUSA) say they will not report for work until their demands have been met.

Spokesperson Dion Makhura said that the dispute has been going on for many years.

“These are not new demands. They are the demands we’ve been fighting for [over] the past four years,” Makhura said.

“We are saying something must be fixed.”

Makhura said they are hoping to reach a solution by Monday.

“We are willing to compromise some of the demands to get the solution.”
